Review:

Have you ever wished for a good action film with a classic Disney twist? Don’t lie, I know you secretly have. As for me, I didn’t even know I needed such a thing in my life before Big Hero 6 hit the cinemas.

Exciting, funny and definitely a bit of a tearjerker (as every good Disney film has to be!), Big Hero 6 makes it immediately clear that Marvel and Disney are now one single thing. Disney’s latest offering is in fact loosely inspired by a Marvel superhero comic of the same title and sports a cast of nerdy geniuses teaming up to save the day, thanks to the invaluable help of the cutest healthcare companion robot sidekick. If this doesn’t seem quite enough for you, add to the mix the futuristic fictional city of San Fransokyo, mind-blowing microrobotics, a moving story of loss and personal growth and a cool Fall Out Boy song and you’ll have one of the best and most entertaining animated features in years. The film won this year’s Academy Award for Best Animated Feature Film, beating off some pretty tough competition including Ghibli’s The Tale of the Princess Kaguya and Dreamworks’ How To Train Your Dragon 2 - definitely not one to miss.
