Review:

The final instalment in the X-Men franchise, The New Mutants, follows the story of 5 teenagers each afflicted by individual personal tragedies and their subsequent manifesting mutant abilities. Awakening in an abandoned hospital, and kept under strict supervision by the mysterious Dr. Reyes, the group believe that they are being trained to join the X-Men. However, as the group uncover the true extent of their abilities, and begin to grow closer together, they also uncover the true reason for their imprisonment. The New Mutants stars Maisie Williams as Rahne, a Scottish lycanthrope struggling to place her abilities within her religious beliefs; Blu Hunt as Dani, a Native American teen who begins to discover her abilities after the destruction of her reservation from a tornado; Anya Taylor-Joy as Russian sorcerer Ilyana; Charlie Heaton as American teen Sam, who manifests the ability to propel himself through the air, and Henry Zaga as Bobby, a Brazilian mutant who can repurpose solar energy to his will.
