The Drop

Bob Saginowski (Tom Hardy) is a lonely Brooklyn bartender who turns a blind eye to local mobsters using the place for money-laundering ‘drops’. But his life takes a different turn when he rescues an puppy and asks his neighbour Nadia (Noomi Rapace) for help. The two bond whilst caring for the puppy; however, when Nadia’s abusive ex reappears and the bar is broken into, Bob finds himself re-evaluating everything and everyone in his life.

The Drop is James Gandolfini’s final feature film appearance and his characterisation of the bar owner, Marv, is certainly a strong final performance in this utterly gripping crime drama.
